Dozens of small tests of change are adding up to a big drop in the frequency of pressure ulcers for patients at San Diego Medical Center’s 5 North/South unit. Two simple tools, available to just about any team anywhere, have been at the heart of their success—an increase in the frequency of communication and a plain old white board. And the team members have discovered a welcome side effect: employee morale is improved too!
