Unit-based teams are giving the Mid-Atlantic States region new ways to meet its service, quality, people and financial goals. Messages around workplace safety, attendance, service and other goals were constant and consistent in 2010, with senior KP and LMP leaders attending meetings, training sessions and UBT rollouts to discuss with employees not only the goals themselves but the business reasons behind them. The region ended the year with 138 UBTs working on projects to improve members' care and service experience and to address important clinical outcomes, such as controlling hypertension and increasing cervical cancer screening and pediatric immunization rates.
